Chakra cleansing is a practice aimed at clearing and balancing the body's seven energy centres — mapped from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each is traditionally associated with different physical, emotional, or spiritual qualities. A cleansing workshop uses guided meditation, breathwork, and movement to work through blockages at each point.
The seven centres, briefly
- Root (Muladhara) — grounding, security, survival
- Sacral (Svadhisthana) — creativity, emotion, pleasure
- Solar Plexus (Manipura) — confidence, personal power
- Heart (Anahata) — love, connection, compassion
- Throat (Vishuddha) — communication, truth
- Third Eye (Ajna) — intuition, clarity
- Crown (Sahasrara) — connection to something larger than the self
Where tradition and modern anatomy actually overlap
Most of the chakra system is a traditional, symbolic map rather than a claim about verified physiology — best approached as a framework for reflection, not a medical model. Yogic tradition maps each chakra to a corresponding endocrine gland; one correspondence is genuinely concrete — the Heart Chakra's link to the thymus, a real gland central to the immune system. The rest is symbolic rather than anatomically verified.
What a workshop actually feels like
A typical session moves through each centre in sequence using breath and guided visualization, occasionally paired with simple movement or sound. No equipment involved, no prior knowledge required.
Who tends to get the most from it
People curious about self-reflection frameworks, going through a period of change, or looking for a structured way to notice patterns in their emotions and body.
What it isn't
Not a treatment for anxiety, depression, or any medical condition. A contemplative practice — approached as a map for asking better questions, not unquestionable fact.
Good to know before your first session
- No physical demands
- No belief system required
- Sessions guided start to finish
- Optional, like every other session
