One to three days before
- Choose simple, nourishing meals that are easy for you to digest.
- If it suits your beliefs and body, you may eat vegetarian for one to three days beforehand. This is optional, not a medical requirement.
- Drink enough water so you don't arrive dehydrated.
- Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for at least 24 to 48 hours beforehand.
- Where you can, cut back on very heavy, oily, highly processed, or late-night meals.
- Don't over-exercise or exhaust yourself the day before.
- Get a good night's sleep.
- Keep taking prescribed medication as your doctor directs — don't stop it for the event.
- Tell us in advance about injuries, pregnancy, medical concerns, dietary needs, or modifications you need.
On the morning
Arrive with a light stomach. Travel on an empty stomach if that feels comfortable, or have a small, light meal 60 to 90 minutes before: fruit, a banana, soaked nuts, a few dates, coconut water, or light porridge. Skip a heavy breakfast, fried food, a large dairy meal, or lots of coffee just before practice.
Don't fast if fasting makes you dizzy, weak, or unwell. Bring a small snack if you need one.
What to wear
- Light, loose, breathable clothes for yoga and free movement
- Clothes you don't mind getting a little wet or sandy
- Swimwear or quick-dry clothes for the optional river dip or water time
- Spare clothes and underwear for after the water
- Secure sandals or water-friendly footwear
- A light shawl or layer for meditation, rest, and the boat
Sun, water, and outdoor essentials
- Sunscreen, applied before you arrive and topped up during the day
- A hat or cap, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle
- A towel for the river dip or kayaking
- Natural insect repellent, if you have it
- A waterproof pouch for your phone, wallet, and valuables
- Any personal medication you need
Your mindset for the day
- Come without pressure to have a particular emotional, spiritual, or physical experience.
- Set a simple intention: rest, clarity, movement, release, joy, connection, or presence.
- Go at your own pace — you can take breaks, choose gentler options, or sit out.
- River dips, kayaking, and ecstatic dance are invitations, not obligations.
- Respect other guests' boundaries, privacy, and personal space.
- Keep the day substance-free.
